Suma® Drain Maintainer is an effective treatment for drains, grease traps, and septic systems, particularly where grease is a common problem. This product is designed to break down fats, oils, proteins, and other organic matter by building up a population of bacteria that naturally degrades the material, keeping drains clean and improving the efficiency of grease traps and septic systems.

Use Overview:

• Drain and Grease Trap Maintenance:

  • Initial Start-Up: Dilute the product at a rate of 1:3 with warm water and pour approximately 1 gallon (3.8 L) of the diluted solution down each floor drain.
  • Daily Dose: Apply 5–30 fl oz (148 mL–887 mL) per day into the drain, aiming to get the product past the P-trap at the drain closest to the grease trap. Begin with a higher dose for the first 2 weeks, then gradually reduce.
  • Odor Reduction: Should be noticeable within 24 hours after initial application.

• Septic Tanks:

  • Daily Dose: Apply 0.05–0.17 oz per gallon (0.39–1.33 mL/L) of septic tank capacity, depending on soil load.
  • Precautions: In food processing areas, remove or protect all food products and packaging before application. Not for use on food contact surfaces.
